Lots of fun was had, lots of Rain Shadows ebook preorders took place, a new book imprint was debuted, talks about boogeyladies and performance writing and horror podcasts happened, plus the con’s first ever open mic was a splash and the anthology contest results were announced during Crypticon weekend 2025… check it out!
RAIN SHADOWS & BTRS BOOKS
Not only were we able to show off the new cover of Rain Shadows and score some preorders (super important for book sales!), but BTRS Books as an imprint was introduced to the world. I also happily sold lots of copies of Cul de Sac Stories and Clay put many of his books into readers hands, as well.

CRYPTICON OPEN MIC DEBUTS

I was shocked to learn that Crypticon has never before offered an open mic for writers at its con, so this first attempt in 2025 would set the stage… and it did in a nicely attended event featuring some of the Seattle HWA‘s most active members. I read, too, from my short story, “Exfoliation,” from the newly minted Camp Crypticon II anthology.
