Did you know that I publish an original recipe with every one of my newsletters?
Now those recipes are getting a second life here in a dedicated home at Rhymes With Camera… free for Substack subscribers. And the best news of all? My Substack is also free!
If you subscribe, you’ll receive direct to your email inbox a monthly new recipe using ingredients from my kitchen garden, complete with a photo of the finished product.

Let me tease you: Next month (August 2024) I offer a tried-and-true zucchini bread recipe for using up so much of the August harvest. It tastes great, is super moist, and freezes well. I just made another batch this weekend and froze half of it preemptively otherwise it will be gone in a flash.
Once upon a time…
I was a cookbook editor and food journalist and blogger. Yep, I wrote the food blogs Chez Tamara and Extra! Extra! back in what seems like another lifetime.
I now spend most of my foodie energy on growing food in my kitchen garden… and that means “putting it by,” as my grandmother used to say.
Right now, I have the last three recipes up for grabs at the new exclusive page: May’s Easy Cilantro Pesto, June’s Mushroom & Kale Breakfast Bites, and July’s Easy Chinese Broccoli. I’ll be adding more of the previous ones over the next few weeks, so keep an eye out for updates in the Substack as they happen:
- Cheaters Blackberry Cobbler
- Instant Pot Pizza Sauce
- Spiced Apple Butter
- Chicken Soup with Bok Choy and Mushrooms
- Easy Hummus
- Black Lentil Salad
If you’d like to receive my monthly recipe, it’s super easy: just sign up for my Rhymes With Camera Substack! [https://rhymeswithcamera.substack.com/] It goes out once a month and offers not only an original recipe, but an essay on the writing life, pictures of my events from the previous month, an update on my projects (books, films, podcasts), news and updates about future literary events, occasional book giveaways or subscriber only offers, and much more.
It’s really no risk to you as it’s free and only monthly, so why not give it a go?
