This is not an April Fool’s prank. I’m gone. They accused me of linking to some account from Vietnam that doesn’t follow the rules and now I have no Facebook, no Threads, and Instagram.

Please, if you want to keep up with my publishing and writing and filmmaking adventures, you’ll need to subscribe to my newsletter or follow this blog. I can also be found in BlueSky  and Mastodon and will be beefing up my engagement there over the next month. I mean, how will you ever know about my new book coming out without social media?

I guess the lesson here is to not put all your marketing eggs in one basket.

This really sucks and I waver between feeling liberated from a huge time suck and crying because I have literally been erased and disconnected from all my friends and family.

GOOD BUT NOT GREAT NEWS

I have been able to reclaim my access to both Threads and Instagram, but honestly, not feeling so trusting of Meta anymore. They still have not given me back my Facebook and that’s a big loss I’m not going to get over soon. I’m thinking about putting Substack to use as well, as a mirror site for this blog and for my MailChimp newsletter. Stay tuned. April is going to be a very busy month.
