MAY 2-4: Crypticon weekend cometh
Seattle’s premiere horror fan convention haunts the SeaTac Doubletree hotel. Watch for horror film celebrities, shop for spooky items in the vendor room and art gallery, take in some horror flicks at the Crypticon film fest, listen to storytellers share scary tales, learn about writing or podcasting or filming horror, and don’t forget the nightly parties on the 13th Floor! I’ll be there talking about horror podcasting, boogey ladies, and writing horror for performance and will be found at the scary story open mic, the Camp Crypticon awards ceremony, or the Cascade Writers or HWA tables in the main hall. Come find me and I can give you a special preorder deal for Rain Shadows!
MAY 2: My latest Substack drops!Â
If you want the behind-the-scenes scoop on my various and sundry publishing, podcasting, and filmmaking efforts—and updates on all that groovy gardening, cooking, and PNW news I know some of y’all like—I highly recommend you subscribe free to my monthly Substack!
(Psst! It always comes with an original recipe featuring something from my kitchen garden! Subscribers also get access to special book pre-order rates and other sales)
MAY 15: Horror Story Read-A-Roke, West SeattleÂ
Love to listen to scary tales, classic and contemporary? Want to read your own horror stories, or a favorite from your own collection? Have a true ghost story you want to share, open mic style? Clay Vermulm and the Seattle chapter of the HWA are working with owner/bartender Andrew at 2 Fingers Social to develop a horror-friendly “read-a-roke” event at Seattle’s only horrorcentric bar! This promises to be a fun event at an even more fun venue!
