I went to the very first two Port Gamble Ghost Conferences starting back in 2010 with town manager Shana Smith, paranormal scientist Neil McNeill and Evergreen Paranormal leading the programming.
Local true crime and thriller author Gregg Olsen, as I recall, headlined in the author spotlight with the new release of his book, Starvation Heights, set in the nearby town on Indianola. His book described the disturbingly criminal true accounts of the local sanitorium where residents literally fasted to death under the evil guidance of scam artist Linda Hazzard.
The conference has grown by leaps and bounds since then, and I’m thrilled to be returning after all these years, and not just as an attendee.
I’ll be tabling, selling, and signing books with other members of the Seattle chapter of the Horror Writers Association all weekend, and on Saturday from 3-3:50pm, I’ll participate in the Panel Q&A: Authors of the Paranormal in the Theater.
I have taken almost all of the investigation tours this conference offers and can absolutely recommend the Walker Ames House, the Port Gamble Historic Museum, and St. Paul’s Church if you are looking to have an experience.
