Cascade Writers Workshop – July 12 to 14, 2024

Fairfield Inn & Suites, Bremerton, WA

Summer plans suddenly clarify after Memorial Day ends and we realize that the year is ending for school but beginning for trips and activities reserved for the light season. Now is the time to make those commitments, and the Cascade Writers Workshop is one people make time and again, to great success.

CWW has taken place in July since 2014… and the lineup of panelists and critique facilitators this 10th anniversary year is as good as it gets.

They’re bringing back some classic favorites but introducing new faces and burning topics (like publishing pathways) to keep up with the ever-relevant interests of our members.

How it works

  • Sign up by June 9 and prepare to join a critique group of 6-8 other members facilitated by one of our pros (we have professional editors, agents, and successful authors to guide nearly every prose-writer’s interest).
  • We meet in our private Discord group starting June 9 and exchange manuscripts—the first 4000 words of your novel, a short story of up to 4000 words, or 4000 words of whatever other written prose project you are working on—then convene live in Bremerton from July 12-14.
  • From July 12-14, it’s Go Time! We share our feedback with each other, learn from live panel discussions and one-hour workshops, take part in pitch sessions, and participate in a fun and inspiring weekend of writing community which includes celebrating each others’ books in different way.
  • Special for 2024: The much beloved and sought after wisdom of Claire Eddy comes to us via Zoom livestream. This particular workshop is set aside especially for who need to opt for a virtual experience instead. If you need to log in rather than check in, this is the workshop for you! Sign up quickly as Claire’s group is a popular one! If the workshop doesn’t fill out by June 9 for those with geographic or accessibility needs, then we will open it up to all other writers who wish to take part.

The CWW is a blast, with long-time friendships, peer groups, quality guidance, year-round connection via Discord, and access to other short workshops both live and online just a few of the long-term takeaways you’ll enjoy.

The Bremerton waterfront is a great backdrop for all this, as well. At the port of Bremerton, among the eclectic spaces that constitute the local arts scene, you’ll have access to great places to eat, get coffee, walk, and be creative and inspired.

But you have to sign up by Monday June 9 so that everyone has adequate time to read and process your manuscript. Don’t overlook this amazing (and affordable!) opportunity! Click here to register, learn more, and get lodging.
