Day Two #AWP21 reflections

November 2023 THROUGH January 2024

November 2023

BKAT AUTHOR INTERVIEW TAPING

Looking forward to an interview with the hosts at Kitsap county’s only cable station, BKAT (Bremerton Public Access Television). This (hopefully!) lively discussion will eventually run on Saturdays at 5pm (date and link TBD) with a dedicated link at the Author Event Network YouTube channel to follow. Stay tuned for more information!

BOOK BIRTHDAY SIGNING AND SALES EVENT!

November is Intention Tremor‘s 3rd Book Birthday! To celebrate that, and to help usher in the holiday season, I’ll be signing and selling copies with my peers at the Author Event Network booth at Kitsap Jingle Fest. I’ll have gift mugs and stickers as well as books!

WHEN: Sunday, November 26, 2023, 10am to 4pm
WHERE: President’s Hall, Kitsap County Fairgrounds, Bremerton, WA
COST: Admission and parking are FREE and open to the public

December 2023

INK/ALOUD PERFORMANCES for BUSHWICK BOOK CLUB SEATTLE

Three local authors—co-curated with Seattle poet Shin Yu Pai—inspire three musicians apiece to gift the audience nine new songs in this one-night-only celebration of creativity and collaboration. Featured authors include E. Briskin (Orange), Justine Chan (Should You Lose All Reason(s)) and Tanya Holtland (Requisite). I’m a Bushwick member and hope to see you there for this essential intersection of local writers and musicians.

WHEN: Saturday, December 9, 2023, 730pm
WHERE: Rabbit Box Theater, Seattle, WA
COST: Tickets are $20 (go to Stranger Tickets)

SOULFOOD POETRY OPEN MIC

Oooh, the Jack Straw Writers will present some fantastic work during December’s SoulFood event! I’ll bring a poem for the open mic but I’m just as interested in hearing work from Jim Cantú, Brian Dang, David K. Rea (it’s been a long time, David!), Carla Shafer, Sumu Tasib, and Julene Tripp Weaver (who has been a diehard supporter of my own work).

WHEN: Thursday, December 21, 2023, 6pm to 8pm
WHERE: SoulFood CoffeeHouse, Redmond, WA
COST: Event is FREE and open to the public

January 2024

NEW YEAR, LOCAL POETS reading

You are cordially invited to attend the first poetry reading held at Kingston’s new bookstore, Saltwater Bookshop, where I (Kingston) will be joined by Ronda Piszk Broatch (Kingston) and Nicole Renee La Follette (Seattle) for a creative, mind-bending reading of verse! What a great way to start the new year!

WHEN: Thursday, January 11, 2023, 630pm
WHERE: Saltwater Bookshop, Kingston, WA
COST: Event is FREE and open to the public
