When I attended Crypticon this year, I had the pleasure of meeting Ean Tallent (albeit with his foot in a boot!) at the Hallow Ian Horror Hour table that was positioned next to the table for the Seattle chapter of the HWA.
Tallent is an independent horror filmmaker, member of HWA, and the performer behind “spectral horror historian Hallow Ian” at Tapped House TV, a Seattle-area media collective of creatives and craftspeople behind this YouTube horror series now entering its second season, described as “Elvira meets Peewee’s Playhouse, or Frankenstein’s Almost Live” (The latter being a reference that perhaps only locals truly appreciate!).
Part of that celebration will include a short poetry event featuring local author and HWA co-chair Brianna Malotke. The six-part anthology series showcases more than 30 short films, music videos, interviews, fake commercials, skits and deep dives into the history of Halloween. The public is invited to attend and “come for scares, laughs, and a celebration of the art of horror.”
The show will be streamable via various platforms and the Seattle College Cable Television (SCCTV) network through October.
Imma be there this Friday and hope you can make it, too! If not, find ways to stream here and learn more.
